Syllabus
Parents are given a file containing the Syllabus – graded Month wise, from June till May, to guide them and keep check on their children’s progress at school. There is accountability, transparency of work done at school. The Parents are allowed at the end of every month to discuss and give a feedback to the teacher for any lapse in their learning.
Academic Record
ABACUS maintains individual Anecdotal Records, Checklists of their growth, Running Records, Attendance and Health records, Time Samples, Rating Scales, Worksheet samples and notes from Parents/ Teachers to Review. Finally, we celebrate the “Graduation day” and the Festival of colors “Holi” to give them a colorful memory of their first school. They will be honored with Certificates of Merit and Portfolio files at the end of the year.
How we train the Children?
Children are playful by Nature. We provide meaningful activities and play materials for the child to explore experiment and learn through play. All activities relate to their day to day to experiences. 2 to 5 years is the most impressionable age, where in they question, observe, imitate, analyze, experiment with all the objects they come across. Hence we adopt Montessori Method to facilitate learning. We are equipped with specially designed Montessori materials and trained, efficient teachers to help in training and enhancing the Cognitive, Motor and Sensorial skills. Each child is Unique, so we pay individual attention to each child. The Ratio of Teacher : Child is 1:13
Apart from academics, the child is trained to be confident, self reliant, independent and expressive to communicate freely to be more social and sharing, which leads to positive relationship with their playmates and imbibe good mannerism. As the child completes 3 years of age she/he would be emotionally, socially and intellectually developed to face the complex world outside and pass admission test in a formal school.
Extracurricular Activities
Apart from academics we give a lot of imp to co-curricular activities and celebrations. Children’s day with fancy dress competition, Teacher’s day with children participating in Teacher’s activity, Gandhi jayanthi, Independence and Republic days with competition, Sports day and Cultural day like Ganesh Chaturti, Christmas, Dassera, Diwali, Sankranthi and Ram Navami are celebrated with children’s participation. We organize magic show joy rides, goodies, hand made cards, cakes and snacks. All Birthdays of children are celebrated with pride and pomp.
A Child’s Typical day at Abacus
Day starts with warm welcome greeting one another.
Warming up session with the teacher.
Free play outdoor before the assembly or Prayer.
Reciting Sanskrit Shlokas and English prayers.
Group games, physical drill and meditation Role play, singing and story time that inculcates listening skills, concentration and enacting characters
Snack time where children learn eating in group without spilling and table manners. Children move indoor for teacher centered activities.
